Questions & Answers

1. What originally started you training in martial arts?

Its a bit sad! Ever since I was little I've loved martial arts films, I'd sit there watching 'The karate Kid' (I know!) and think 'Wow! - I want to do that'. I eventually went to my first class when I was 18.

2. What do you take from your training now?

Well I've realised its nothing like the films, but I absolutely love it. I get such a buzz from training, reaching new goals and watching my fellow students progress too. I've gained confidence, fitness and an understanding of the JKD way of life, its not just a martial art.

3. Who's your biggest hero and why?

My niece Chloe is my heroine. She's been through so much and yet remains always a strong fighter, she never complains and has always got a smile on her face. A true inspiration!

4. What's your favourite technique and why?

I love boxing! Its so much fun hitting the pads so I'd say my favourite technique to practice is the right cross. However in an emergency I'd probably fall back on the simplest most effective technique, the finger jab.

5. What inspires you?

Seeing other people achieve and making the best of themselves inspires me to do the same.

6. What's your best moment in life so far?

Me and my boyfriend David have just bought our first house together. So that pretty much comes tops at the moment, Its dead good!

7. What's your favourite film?

The Star Wars films are my all time favourite films, but if I had to choose just one it'll have to be Return of the Jedi.

8. What's the last book you bought?

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

9. What's your favourite quote?

"Stop trying to hit me and hit me" - Mophius, The Matrix. There's nothing philisophical about it, its just a really cool part of the film!

10. If you could do one thing what would it be?

Theres so many things I want to do, but keeping it relevant I'd love to meet and train with Grand master Richard Bustillo, I'm so jealous of Mic & Curt.
